Prekinder Math Books - Coming Soon!

I have gone through several programs in teaching my kids school, and have combined my favorite types of learning to create some teaching books! Every child learns differently, and in using my books, you can use whatever works best for your child!

Each grade and subject will have THREE different books to learn from. Each book will cover all your child needs to learn in that grade and subject.

One book will be a "Learning Book" where you can sit anywhere and read and look at it with your child and teach them, or test them to see where they are.

Another book will be the "Workbook" where your child can write in it as they practice and learn.

The last book will be the "Activity Book" where most children will learn best. It includes games, hands on activities, and crafts to learn.

You can laminate each book so it can be reused for each child! I even laminate the workbook and my children use dry erase markers and crayons!

Each book has a place to put a sticker on it so they can mark it off if they have mastered and completed it. This really helps the kids to see that they do not need to work on that page anymore and they can see what they have learned! This also helps the parent as they can see what they do not need to work on anymore! The focus on these books is for your child to LEARN, and not just to get through a program!

I have just finished the Prekinder Math Books. I am offering to a limited few the opportunity to receive the full PreKinder Math program for FREE for testing it and giving me feedback! Let me know if you would be interested! Prekinder English (Reading, Writing, Spelling) will be coming soon, so let me know if you are interested in that as well!

Reading Reward Chart

My kids had SUCH a hard time WANTING to read! Finally I came up with this reward chart that we laminated and we keep it on our fridge! Let them choose a reward to write in that they can work toward!
Once they have read and marked off all the books they can get their reward!
It can be as easy as a piece of candy, candy bar, or you could make it nicer such as a trip to the dollar store to pick out anything they want! If they need to be motivated, give them a nicer reward the first time, and change it up each time you go through it. My kids are currently working toward a trip to the dollar store! They have actually WANTED to read, not only during the day, but at night time as well! They have improved in their reading as well! Hoping it helps you too!

Laundry room organizing and printable labels

So it has been awhile since I have posted! Life happens! But it is a new year and I hope to make it a better one!

I am currently in the process of making changes to my house... lots and lots of changes with painting and modifying in the next 6 months! BUT over the next month I will be ORGANIZING like crazy and hopefully get my house semi to the point that I really want and desire but find it oh so hard to actually obtain because of the THREE little kiddos that follow me around everywhere!

I started by cleaning up my laundry room.

I found these tubs at the Dollar Tree! I don't know how I ever spend so much money going to normal stores when I can find SO many awesome things that the dollar store or thrift stores! These tubs were $1 each. I made the labels for them. It was supposed to be that chalkboard type style, but didn't really turn out as such... I still they they work, and make me happy when I see it... that is what it is all about... making me happy when I have to do laundry!

You should have seen my laundry room before.... it was BAD. Oh wait, no, it was so bad I probably wouldn't have wanted anyone to see it! This is by any means NOT perfect, but definitely a start in the right direction! That is what we all need to do... little steps in the right direction... I feel so much more accomplished even after the little things!

In case anyone wants some quick labels, I made these to share....

Magnetic Dry Erase Picture Frame

I have been wanting to make this for awhile but I did not want to spend too much money on it. Other people have done it, but I was disappointed to find out the metal sheets cost so much. Sooo I came up with a better alternative... Much like my magnetic file folder games... Use metal paper clips!!! I should have ironed my fabric, but I can always go back and do it!

My plan is to have 3 large frames... One for each child, and add a few nice pictures from each year of their life, so we can actually look at them, and add more easily! I am so bad at adding photos to frames... We have lived in our house for over a year with most frames still empty...yes I am that bad!

This idea also works for a memo board and can be used as a dry erase board!
I suggest spending more to buy the small magnets that are super strong... They work amazing!

Depending on what you plan to do... Add lots and lots of paper clips! I only added as many as I did because I really wanted to see if it would work! And it did!

All I need to do now is order the pictures!

Update: make sure the backing is pushed tightly against the glass, otherwise the middle magnets won't work as well. Maybe add double sided clear tape to the middle, or add something to the back that will push it towards the glass.

Good news is that it is so easy to change out the fabric or add more paper clips. MUCH cheaper than sheet metal!!

Let me know if it worked for you too!
