Magnetic Dry Erase Picture Frame

I have been wanting to make this for awhile but I did not want to spend too much money on it. Other people have done it, but I was disappointed to find out the metal sheets cost so much. Sooo I came up with a better alternative... Much like my magnetic file folder games... Use metal paper clips!!! I should have ironed my fabric, but I can always go back and do it!

My plan is to have 3 large frames... One for each child, and add a few nice pictures from each year of their life, so we can actually look at them, and add more easily! I am so bad at adding photos to frames... We have lived in our house for over a year with most frames still empty...yes I am that bad!

This idea also works for a memo board and can be used as a dry erase board!
I suggest spending more to buy the small magnets that are super strong... They work amazing!

Depending on what you plan to do... Add lots and lots of paper clips! I only added as many as I did because I really wanted to see if it would work! And it did!

All I need to do now is order the pictures!

Update: make sure the backing is pushed tightly against the glass, otherwise the middle magnets won't work as well. Maybe add double sided clear tape to the middle, or add something to the back that will push it towards the glass.

Good news is that it is so easy to change out the fabric or add more paper clips. MUCH cheaper than sheet metal!!

Let me know if it worked for you too!

Padded Fabric Bench Seat (craft tutorial)

I was so happy to do this project because I haven't done anything like it so far!

Needed:
8' long wood from Home Depot (have them cut it in two, can make two benches from it)
4 wood legs (home depot)
4 Metal heavy duty top plates (found by the legs and comes with the screws... Makes it sooo easy to just screw in the legs)
1 Drill to make a small hole where the screws will go, so you don't strip the wood
1 Screwdriver or drill with Philips head bit to screw in the screws
Quilter's batting to soften the look of the seat
Foam for added comfort... Makes the seat super comfy! I added 2 sheets to it.

Preschool Activity Binder (Preschool)

I love binders. You can add and take away. You can keep things organized and out of site and stress free. It is also convenient for teaching kids!
I have so many ideas and am just getting started.
One idea is to have a binder of actual preschool learning activities. Something that is fun and entertaining for the kids... Teaches them.... A great entertainer for road trips... And I can use it to teach them more than if they were to do it on their own!

Here are a couple of easy starters. Though not looking great since from my phone and not completely laminated. More ideas to come.

1) shapes and colors matching - ask child to find the shapes, then the colors, or they can do it for fun by themselves.
(I used Velcro on this)

2) upper and lowercase letter matching - have the child pick a letter, tell them what the letter is and the sound it makes and have them repeat the sound and find the small letter that matches the big letter.
(I taped metal paper clips to the back, and put magnets on the letters, so it stays on the spot you want which is great for traveling, and it is silent, unlike Velcro, which is great for church or other quiet places.

More to come.
